Operation Paladin - Israel - Palestine

The ADF is committed to Operation Paladin in Jerusalem, contributing to the UN Truce Supervision Organisation (UNTSO).

The UNTSO was established in 1948 to supervise the truce agreed at the conclusion of the first Arab/Israeli War.

Since 1956, members of the Australian contingent have been employed in a variety of roles, including staff officers in the UNTSO Headquarters in Jerusalem and as military observers throughout the region.

Operation Paladin is commanded by Lieutenant Colonel John Dougall.

Operation PALADIN is Australia's contribution to the UN Truce Supervision Organisation (UNTSO) that was established in 1948 to supervise the truce agreed at the conclusion of the first Arab/Israeli War. UNTSO involves Israel, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan.

Australian personnel have supported this operation since 1956. Members of the Australian contingent may be employed in a variety of roles, including staff officers in the UNTSO Headquarters in Jerusalem as well as military observers in a variety of locations.
Operation PALADIN is commanded by Lieutenant Colonel David Rye. There are 11 personnel deployed on Operation PALADIN
